The Director of Accounting, reporting to the CFO, is responsible for all accounting activity of the bank which includes timely and accurate reporting and record keeping, creating and maintaining controls, and ensuring compliant results.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all accounting staff and their responsibilities including general ledger reconciliation, accounts payable, journal entries, fixed assets, internal and external reporting, and budget/performance tracking.
Support the executive team and board of directors with accurate and timely financial data needed to make management and strategic decisions.
Prepare consolidated financial statements for the holding company and subsidiary (bank) including regulatory filings and annual audited financial statements.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborates with executive leaders to form financial/accounting tactics and design financial reporting consistent with strategic goals.
Oversees mortgage and SBA accounting and pricing processes.
Builds engaged team of accounting professionals and succession plan.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business Accounting or a related field.
Eight years of hands-on accounting managerial experience in a financial institution, or public accounting experience covering financial institutions.
CPA or MBA preferred
