The Senior Staff Accountant position is a member of the general accounting team, reports directly to the Controller, and must demonstrate the ability to work proactively and independently. The Senior Staff Accountant will provide guidance and support for various accounting functions which include the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, and month end close. ***Rate is commensurate on experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversees and assists with the operations of the AR and AP department.
- Assist in developing and maintaining internal controls.
- Ensures that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner and all reasonable discounts are taken.
- Ensures that accounts receivable is collected promptly and conducts periodic reviews of customer accounts.
- Monitors warranties and credits to see that items are processed in a timely manner.
- Ensures accurate and timely month end close to include account reconciliations and work papers.
- Calculates and issues financial and operating metrics.
- Assists in preparing annual budget.
- Monitors and analyzes work to develop more efficient procedures.
- Establishes, communicates, and models performance expectations for accounting team members.
- Supports team goals for performance and encourages employees to maintain self-goals.
- Participates in the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring process to identify qualified candidates for the accounting department.
- Monitors and submits (as needed) customer and vendor rebates programs.
- May assist with special duties and assignments as needed.

- Possess relevant technical experience to analyze complex datasets from Excel and other analytical/visualization tools.
Additional Notes
May travel for meetings, training, and physical inventories as needed. Must have the ability to work in the United States.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting and equivalent business experience, including 3+ years of related work experience.
